Drugmakers give the LTC pharmacies kickbacks for pushing their pricey drugs on nursing home residents who have no idea about what they're being given. When they're caught, they simply settle with the justice dept. with a fine and do it all over again. In the meantime, nursing home residents are dying in a drug induced fog.

Re: Sexual Assault in Many Nursing Homes Goes Uninvestigated

Thank you for illuminating this very worrisome topic.

Re: A Dive into NJ’s Assisted Living Inspections

Fantastic write-up Tal. Looking forward to the article about California - was recently speaking with folks here about necessary legislaive changes in senior care and it would be useful to get your perspectives on transparency and data sharing. In terms of this research, would be interested to know if there is some useful additional data that you think could be easily made available, but is not currently.

Re: A Dive into NJ’s Assisted Living Inspections

Wow, Tal, thank you. I can only imagine the hundreds of hours that went into gathering and researching this, let alone sifting through the results. Far better than the generic five-star ratings systems that we usually see.

I wish this had been available three years ago when my Dad needed a care facility. Everything worked out fine, but we had to do 95% of our own research before we could get to the decisions. Your work flips that ratio for your clients. I'm looking forward to the next state!

Re: The Disappearing Dementia Patient

Whether or not they have Dementia, this is a good way to communicate with the elderly.

Re: “Because I’m a Human Being”

Kudos to Eric!
